I didn't go looking for a fight.
But when extremists came after our kids, our educators, and our families, I stood my ground. Six years on the Forest Hills School Board taught me that this community deserves someone who doesn't back down.
I defended our students' right to protect their health, their right to access books in their own school library, and their right to be seen and valued in our community.
Along the way I led a $340 million bond to renovate our schools and build community facilities, launched a Junior Kindergarten program to support working families, and stood firm when extremists tried to undermine everything that makes our schools exceptional.
Those same forces have allies in Lansing. District 80 deserves a representative who has been in these fights and has a proven record of winning them.
